Artesians Blanked in Spokane

Alex Pells makes a save in front of Christian Segovia

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. – Chase Reidt found the back of the net in the 44th minute to lead the Spokane Shadow 2 to a 1-0 win over the Oly Town Artesians on Sunday afternoon at the Spokane Polo Fields.

It was the first win of the season for a Shadow (1-7-0, 3 points) squad that was a lot different than the team that traveled to Olympia on May 21st and fell to the Artesians 5-0. Alex Pells recorded a clean sheet behind a solid game plan that pressed high and didn’t allow Oly Town many offensive opportunities. One day before, the Shadow allowed just one goal to the high scoring and first place Seattle Stars until just before the final whistle in a 2-0 loss.

The Artesians dropped to 2-3-1 with 7 points this season. They will look to get back on track with another road game on Saturday, June 17th against the Seattle Stars. First kick at French Field in Kent is scheduled for 6:00 PM.

Oly Town returns to their home pitch on Tuesday, July 11th when they host the Vancouver Victory at 7:00 PM.
