#HometownSoccer Players of the Week: A pair of JJ’s lead their clubs to big wins

Artesians goalkeeper JJ Olson was named the Evergreen Premier League’s Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday, following a six save performance in Oly’s 2-1 win over the Seattle Stars on Sunday afternoon at Black Hills High School.

“JJ made a several critical saves early in the second half,” said Artesians head coach Matt Herrera. “Both teams were affected by the heat and the long break after the injury, but JJ kept his focus and secured our first win of the season.”

Olson has been a constant presence for the Artesians, both indoor and outdoor. He has played in 13 of Oly’s 16 EPLWA games, and has been the primary keeper over the past two seasons for the WISL squad.
