OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Oly Town Artesians welcome Yakima United to the capital city this Saturday on Youth Soccer Night. All kids in their club uniform get in for free thanks to Wembley Soccer Shop. First kick at Black Hills High School is set for 6:00 PM and tickets are just $8 for adults and $5 for kids 5-12, military, first responders and seniors.

The Artesians are looking to regroup after a pair of hard fought and close games over the past weekend. They fell 3-2 in their season opener to the Seattle Stars last Saturday and then were stunned in Bellingham by a stoppage time goal and fell 2-1 to Bellingham United. Christian Segovia, Geovanny Vazquez and Surafel Wodajo each scored a goal over the weekend to lead Oly Town offensively.

Yakima United enters the game a point ahead of the Artesians in the Evergreen Premier League’s Cascade Conference after registering a 2-2 draw against the Tri-Cities Alliance on Saturday at Yakima Valley College. Fredy Rodriguez and Williams Pineda each scored for the Hoppers in the Battle of I-82.

The two teams have played three times since the Artesians joined the EPLWA for the 2017 season. Last season the two teams battled to a 1-1 draw at Black Hills High School on May 19th. Angel Trejo-Delgado scored the lone goal that day for Oly. The Artesians played their first ever EPLWA game against Yakima in 2017 posting another 1-1 draw before the Artesians knocked off the Hoppers 3-1 later that season in Yakima.

On Wembley Youth Soccer Night, all kids in their club uniforms will get in for free and can join the two teams on the field for walkout and introductions. If your kid would like to participate, please arrive by 5:50 PM. Kids will also love the giant soccer dart board, Artesians cornhole, the six-foot soccer ball at halftime, and games and prizes throughout. The Cinco De Mayo truck will be on hand to serve tamales, Artesian-style shaved ice, Hot Cheetos and cheese, and more. Tickets for adults are $8 and youth, military and seniors get in for $5 and can be purchased in advance at

For out of town fans or those that can’t make it out to Black Hills High School, Saturday’s game will be webcast on the Artesians Network on Facebook Live. Visit the Artesians’ Facebook page at to watch the game.
