
OLYMPIA, Wash. – Nate Boatright scored four goals and Sebastian Lyons and Jordan Zimmerman each scored twice to lead the Oly Town Artesians to a 10-5 win over the visiting Portland Blacktails in a preseason friendly Saturday night.
Boatright scored the first two goals of the game putting the Artesians up 2-0 after the first period. He added his third goal on a penalty kick with 40.3 seconds left in the second quarter to give Oly a 5-2 lead at the half.
Lyons’ second goal of the game less than a minute into the second half put the Artesians up 4-2 before the Blacktails clawed back and made it 6-4 after the third quarter. But goals by Andreas Malunat, Boatright, and Alec Zimmerman made it 9-4 and sealed the game for the Artesians.
Juan Gasca scored twice and Esteban Cruz and Frankie Lopez each added a goal for the Blacktails, a Tualatin based team that is exploring joining the Western Indoor Soccer League in the future.
The Artesians will turn their focus to the WISL regular season and will travel to Bremerton to face the Oly-Pen Force next Saturday at 7:30 PM.
