NEWBERG, Oregon – Chloe Narolski scored the first goal of the Oly Town Artesians women’s inaugural season and scored the last goal of their season on Saturday afternoon in a 1-0 road win over AC Chehalem Valley. Kyla Carter kept her second clean sheet of the season in goal for Oly Town.
On a 90+ degree day at the Austin Sports Complex near the campus of George Fox University, Chloe Narolski put the Artesians ahead in the 20th minute of the game. Oly dominated possession most of the contest but were unable to put another goal in the back of the net against the Northwest Premier League’s newest team, AC Chehalem Valley. The backline including Delaney Smith, Nikki Williams, Celia Scruton and Julia Hass continued their fine form, keeping Chehalem scoreless in front of Kyla Carter for their third shutout in a row during their five game independent season.
The Artesians improved to 4-0-1 in their inaugural season, building a base heading into next outdoor season when the team will join and compete in one of the region’s leagues. More information on the women’s Western Indoor Soccer League season is also expected over the next couple months.
