OLYMPIA, Wash. – Saturday’s game against Snohomish FC did not start off the way Oly Town had hoped. With two back-to-back Snohomish goals from #15, Cristiano Whitaker, Oly Town took their first time out in hopes to stop Snohomish’s momentum and gain their own. Unfortunately for the Artesians, following the time out, Snohomish capitalized on a corner kick and #7, Jeremy Maldonado, scored yet another Snohomish goal. The score was now 3-0 with just minutes left in the first quarter.

Oly Town did not let up, despite being down 0-3. Jason Fairhurst scored his first of the night which got the score going for the Artesians. Jason’s goal was all Oly Town could muster in the first quarter. The quarter ended with Snohomish up 3-2.

After what appeared to be an almost scoreless second quarter, Jordan Zimmerman added one on the scoreboard for Oly Town. Minutes later, Trevor Thompson tied the game up! This concluded the half leaving both teams going into the third quarter 3-3.

Third quarter kicked off with a blue card from Oly Town #4, Nick Meija and a two minute power play for Snohomish. With 9 minutes left in the quarter, it was still a tie game and another blue card was given to Snohomish #12, Tyler Sharp. Oly Town capitalized and on a ball off the wall from Alex Vogt, Jordan Zimmerman scored his second of the night! Oly Town took the lead for the first time of the night 4-3.

Without skipping a beat, Manny Nicasio lasered one into the upper corner and extended Oly Town’s lead 5-3! Snohomish snuck one in right before the end of the quarter. Oly Town was still up 5-4, but with such a close game, the fourth quarter was bound to be a battle.

An offensive start to the fourth quarter from Snohomish forced Oly Town to play defensive right from the get-go. After many shots on goal, Snohomish nailed one in. It was a tie game 5-5 with just 7 minutes left in the game!

Just a minute later, Jason Fairhust came in with his second of the night! Following, Sebastian Lyons placed one into the back of the net securing Oly Town’s lead 7-5.
