Alex Vogt registered a hat trick in the win against Tacoma and Oly Town improved to 4-3-0

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Oly Town started off the new year at The Pavilion on January 8th. Alex Vogt registered a hat trick in the win against the Tacoma Stars Reserves and Oly Town improved to 4-3-0.

It was a scoreless first quarter for The Stars, but Josh Dube got the scoring off for Oly Town with five minutes left to spare in the quarter. Sammy Tafolla struck a ball in to Jason Fairhurst for another Oly Town goal right before the second quarter.

The second quarter started off with a pair of goals from Alex Vogt! Tacoma answered back quickly with two goals of their own. Collin Tate then got one into the back of the net with 1:02 left and the two teams went to the locker room at half 5-2, Oly Town with the lead.

Jesus Flores struck first in the third quarter for Oly Town, but Tacoma went on a three goal run with goals from Adrian Correa, Zane Baumgardt, and AJ Nitzel, to finish the third quarter.

Fourth quarter started as a one score game, 6-5, Oly Town with the lead. Kasey Sidor scored what proved to be the game winning goal and his first of the night! #23 from The Stars got one in, and with just 53 seconds left in the game, Alex Vogt scored an insurance goal for Oly Town which also registered his hat trick! 8-6 Oly Town.

The game was nearly over, and it was looking like a secured Oly Town win, but Tacoma wasn’t finished. #22 for The Stars polished off another goal with just 31 seconds left. The game ended and Oly Town escaped Tacoma with their fourth victory of the season now including a 4-0-0 record at home. 

Oly Town will return to the pitch January 15th when they travel up to Bremerton to face off against Oly-Pen Force at the Oly-Pen Sports Complex.
