Bellingham Ends Oly Town’s Winning Streak at the Pavilion

OLYMPIA, Wash. – On Saturday, January 22nd, Oly Town started off strong getting a few goals over Bellingham United at the Pavilion. Unfortunately, by the second half, Bellingham took the lead and was able to keep the lead, ending Oly Town’s winning streak at the Pavilion.

A pass from Jordan Zimmerman to Jason Fairhust started the scoring off for Oly Town in the first 5 minutes of Saturday’s game. Bellingham got one back, but with just seconds left in the first quarter, Nick Mejia snuck one in.

Going into the second quarter with a 2-1 lead, Oly Town defended their goal for the first 6 minutes, until Bellingham #9 shot one into the back of the net tying the game 2-2.

Oly Town got a 2-minute power play but was unable to capitalize. Shortly after, a blue card from Jason Fairhurst gifted Bellingham a 2-minute power play. 

Bellingham was able to score 2 more goals before half time. Bellingham walked into the second half with the lead 4-2.

Just 3 minutes into the third quarter, Bellingham #9 scored another for the night! 5 minutes later Jose Flores shortens the gap for Oly Town. Bellingham was up 5-3 with 7 minutes left in the third quarter.

Another goal from Bellingham in the fourth quarter! The fourth and final goal of the night for Oly Town was scored by Asa Moncivias.

Bellingham #7 received a red card, and Bellingham got 2 more goals before the game was over. An 8-4 loss for Oly Town ended their winning streak at the Pavilion. Despite the loss, Oly Town clinched a spot in the playoffs thanks to the Portland Blacktails Saturday loss.
