Last Minute Venue Change Brings the Tacoma Galaxy Back to the Pavilion

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Oly Town was set to head up to the Tacoma Soccer Center on Saturday, February 26th, but a last-minute venue change kept Oly Town in Olympia and brought the Tacoma Galaxy down to the Pavilion. Four goals were scored by Kailey Utley, one from Chelsie Still, and one from Lily Dose. Unfortunately, six goals were not enough, and the Tacoma Galaxy registered a 9-6 win. This loss brought the Artesians to 1-2-0

With 2:52 left in the quarter, #15 Jacqueline Corley scored the first goal of the night for Tacoma. Responding back, Kailey Utley scored her first of the night just a minute later. First quarter ended and equal match 1-1.

Jacqueline Corely scored again for Tacoma at the start of the second quarter. Chelsie Still kept the score even getting in her first goal of the season. #18 Delaney Smith got one in the back of the net to allow Tacoma to take the lead 3-2.

Kailey Utley tied the game back up at 4:43 with her second of the night. Just when Oly Town believed they were going into halftime 3-3, #19 Alyssa Andrews snuck one in with less than a minute left in the half. 4-3 at halftime, Tacoma with the lead.

A scoreless third quarter for Oly Town allowed for Tacoma to capitalize. Alyssa Andrews locked in a hat trick for Tacoma. With the fourth quarter left to comeback, Oly Town was down 7-3.

Tacoma scored two goals at the start of the fourth quarter – again from #15 and #18. Tacoma’s lead extended to 9-3.

Oly Town attempted to close the gap with Lily Dose’s first goal of the night, followed by two from Kailey Utley. Unfortunately, those last three goals were not enough.

The final whistle blew and the Tacoma Galaxy added a 9-6 victory to their books.
