OLYMPIA, WA – Entering into their first ever Championship title spot, Oly Town headed to Salem, Oregon on Saturday morning with the intentions of bringing back a title to Olympia and the state of Washington. The match was against 1st place seeded Capital FC Athletica who Oly Town had already faced twice this season, both ending in Capital FC victories. It was truly set out to be a good game.

After a scoreless 40 minutes, Oly Town opened the scoring in the 41′ on a goal from Haylee Ward. It looked like Oly Town was going to head into halftime up on Capital FC, but just moments before the half, Capital FC struck to tie the game 1-1.

In the 69′, Capital FC took the lead for the first time in Saturday’s game. Oly Town did not back down and battled to get a goal back. Just when you thought it was over, Haylee Ward knocked a ball perfectly to Brieanna Dell, scoring the equalizer. The game was tied, regulation and stoppage time was over, and a penalty kick shootout was underway.

In the penalty shootout goalkeeper Olivia Brock made two massive saves to beat Capital FC Athletica and take home the Northwest Premier League 2022 title.

Without question, Saturday was a game to remember. History was made. Well done ladies!
