OLYMPIA, WA – The Artesians came off a 4-week break from Western Indoor Soccer League competition with a resounding 17-6 victory over the Portland Blacktails in front of a packed crowd at the Evergreen State College Saturday night.

Oly Town saw three goals from each Alec Zimmerman and Manny Nicasio as well as a solid showing from keeper Isaiah Damschen to open year 2023 with a WISL win for the Artesians. The first half saw a landslide 8-1 lead by Oly Town and a second half Blacktails resurgence adding 5 goals. But the Artesians would have a whopping six goals in the fourth period alone to close the doors on Portland and pickup their fifth win and moving squarely into second place in the Western Indoor Soccer League table.

The Artesians play at home again next Saturday, January 21st, 6PM against Everett City FC in a grudge match from earlier in the season as Everett handed the Artesians its only loss of the season, 8-6 in Everett.

Tickets are on-sale and available by heading to www.olytownfc.com. The January 21st match up will also include a Thurston County Food Bank Donation Site and an array of food and drink. Whoever brings the most food (by weight) will receive a worn Retro Jersey (Lucky Dog Casino Blue) and decal pack. Get your food donations ready and head to the pavilion with your wagons and watch the Artesians face off against Everett next Saturday.
