OLYMPIA, WA — The Oly Town Artesian Men are set to kickoff for the first time this 2023 season in a friendly this Sunday, May 7th against Bellingham United at South Sound Stadium.
The game is a warmup for both teams as they prepare for their respective league battles. The Evergreen Premier League of Washington (EPLWA) for Bellingham United and the USL League Two for the Artesians. Bellingham won the EPLWA in 2022 and are looking to take the top spot again. Oly Town took 4th Place out of 6 teams in their inaugural USL League Two campaign in 2022.
Oly Town officially announced in February 2023 it’s move to South Sound Stadium on the border of Olympia & Lacey and conveniently right off Interstate 5. Stadium experience, food trucks and more can be found on the Game Day Page at olytownfc.com.
“It’ll be nice to be back outside watching Artesian soccer” said GM Jason Smith. “We hope the teams get something good out of it and the fans can get a little taste of what’s to come May 14 in our big USL opening matches.”
Oly Town is hosting a Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 14) doubleheader showcasing the USL W League and the USL League two sides in their regular season openers. The Artesian Men kickoff at 1PM and the Artesian Women at 330PM both against PDX FC of Portland, Oregon. The women’s game will mark the first time the USL W League comes to Olympia and the state of Washington. Single match tickets are available at www.olytownfc.com as well as season tickets.
Mother’s Day Photo Booth, Flowers for Mom and a Kid’s Zone will be available May 14th so be sure to make your plans now before tickets are gone. Elle’s Floral Design out of Olympia will be doing purple flowers for the USL Women’s game and red flowers for the USL2 Men’s match. Pop and Drop Photo Booth based in Olympia, WA will be doing custom prints for families at the match in a mobile photo booth. The Mother’s Day activities and events are brought to you by Nicole’s Bar Off Legion.
The Oly Town Kid’s Zone is a new feature this year starting May 14th as there will be a large area for kid’s and families to play soccer and also play with Giant Checkers, Jenga, Connect Four and a large inflatable bumper wall Soccer Field. General admission tickets are $12 while Kid’s 12 and under are in free thanks to the Oly Soccer Foundation.
New to the game day viewing experience is an enhanced broadcast with new high definition cameras, expanded professional photographer team and livestream graphics. The cost starting May 14 is $3 per game for a livestream ticketing. Catch all the action if you’re outside of the region with the “Voice of the Artesians” John McGlamery who will be gracing the microphone once again. Cartwright Media will again be streaming the Oly Town cast so make sure and get your livestream tickets today.
“We are looking forward to seeing people in the stands but also offering those on the road a new streaming experience” said Principal Owner Ryan Perkins. “We prefer folks be at the game but just in case our new cameras, new graphics and the team put together by Brandon Cartwright at Cartwright Media are going to give folks some great views of the game on our new livestream.”

The Artesians have been featured in multiple preseason USL W League national media features with Oly’s signing of former professional soccer player Mariah Lee who is looking to make a splash in the Northwest Division of the W League. Mariah Lee was interviewed by USL W League President Amanda Vandervort where the two talked about Mariah’s pro experiences both domestic and internationally and what brought Mariah to the W League.
