Oly faced league newcomer the Vancouver Lightning in a friendly last Saturday which saw new faces to the Artesian roster after many player departures of names such as Jason Fairhurst, Alex Vogt, Brett Stallworth, Mitchell Balmer and Rainier Schlekewey. The Artesians were able to win 13-4 over Vancouver with a new, energized squad helmed by Head Coach Nick Boatright.

Returning signings announced by the Artesians that are currently available to play are Oly Legend Nate Boatright (captain), Kasey Sidor (15 goals in 2022), TR Jewett (Defender) and Isaiah Damschen (goalkeeper).

Oly Town on Saturday saw newcomers Jake Irwin scoring 3 goals, Miguel Bravo, Gavin Smiley and Kasey Sidor each with 2 goals and Oly Legend JJ Olson splitting time in goal with last years incumbent keeper Isaiah Damschen.

The match Saturday against the Tacoma Stars will be a tough test as the Stars are a pro-arena organization that serves as a rotating reserve roster for the Major Arena Soccer League. Oly Town tied the Stars 5-5 in Olympia in 2023 but dropped their away match in Tacoma 3-5. The Stars would go on to win the Championship in 2023.

The Artesians clinched the 2022-23 arena postseason on a resounding undefeated home league record but lost in the semifinals in a tight matchup against the Everett City FC 5-6.

There is a new WISL league setup with three divisions with new teams and seasonal format. Oly Town resides in the St Helens division and will face divisional foes South Sound FC and Vancouver Lightning twice while playing each other club at least once.
