Artesians Two Straight Wins Sets Up July 14 Home Finale

OLYMPIA, WA – The Oly Town men’s USL team sat in 3rd place heading into the weekend in which they had two stops in the state of Oregon. Oly Town won 4-1 in a second half melee against PDX FC Friday night and took revenge on Capital FC 2-0 Sunday on their home field in Salem, Oregon. The 6 points gathered has setup a watchful USL eye around the nation as Oly Town could clinch the second seed into the USL League Two national playoff scene with a final home game win July 14th in Olympia, WA.

Ballard FC formally clinched the USL playoffs and division champion title with Oly Town’s win over Capital. Two teams from the Northwest Division get to compete in the West Coast Finals to enter the race for the USL2 nations cup which begins in just 11 days on July 21.

This sets up a unique July 14th at South Sound Stadium in Olympia, WA as Oly Town hosts United PDX and local fans get to see the last home game of the year. Fans are encouraged to come out and break the attendance record which is 405 set last year on July 7, 2022.

Capital has two remaining home games against #1 Ballard FC and bottom of the table Lane United to close out the season. With a Capital loss against Ballard this Wednesday, Oly Town’s Friday night match may not be a must-win situation as Oly Town is currently 4 points ahead of Capital. However a tie or win and playoff implications and tiebreakers would require an Artesian win on July 14th.
