OLYMPIA, Wash. – Max Hauser scored the equalizer in the 70th minute and Tino Pantaleon completed the second half comeback scoring the game winner in the 88th minute for the Oly Town Artesians men in a thrilling 2-1 win over Tacoma Narrows Saturday night. Goalkeeper Sawyer Price made six saves for Oly Town and the Artesians improved to 1-1-0 in the Evergreen Premier League’s South Division with a trip to the division leaders coming up next week.

Tacoma Narrows opened the scoring with a goal by Eddie Na in the 11th minute and Tacoma held the upper hand for much of the first half. Oly had their chances including a 32nd minute header by Joe DiCarlo that Narrows keeper Julian Taffola saved followed by another save just three minutes later. Max Hauser nearly chipped in a goal over Taffola in the 38th minute but the ball skipped just wide of the target and the half came to a close with Narrows up 1-0.

The tide turned throughout the second half with the Artesians increasing the pressure on Narrows slowly but surely. Tacoma’s best chance to salt the game away came in the 58th minute when Chris Lozano’s shot sailed just high over the crossbar. But numerous long runs by Trevor Thompson wore out the Narrows defense until one of his crosses into the box found Hauser on the back post and Oly tied the game 1-1 in the 70th minute.

Price kept the game level with an excellent save in the 85th minute and three minutes later, after a scramble in the box and a flick by three time EPLWA champion Carlos Rodriguez, Tino Pantaleon pounced on a ball and fired it past Taffola to put the Artesians up 2-1. Oly held on over the final couple minutes of extra time and took the exciting victory in front of a great crowd at Black Hills High School.

The Artesians moved to 1-1-0 in the EPLWA’s South Division and will travel to Yakima United next Saturday to face division leading Yakima United. First kick at SOZO Sports is set for 6:00 PM. Oly returns to town on Wednesday, June 16th for a Round 2 Washington State Super Cup game against Seattle Lone Stars FC.

OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Oly Town Artesians women made their debut on Saturday afternoon at Black Hills High School and posted an exciting 5-2 win over the visiting Kirkland FC Goats. Chloe Narolski scored the first goal in team history in the 11th minute and Kailey Utley scored twice in the second half to ice the debut victory.

Kirkland jumped out early putting a good amount of pressure on the Artesians defense and goalkeeper Hana Klimek before Oly turned it around and took over the game. Centralia College’s Chloe Narolski opened the scoring in the 11th minute for the Artesians and Troy University alum Haley Roberson made it 2-0 off of a cross from PLU’s Jami Hughes. Another Lute, Vera Panescu-Reich, made it 3-0 in the 36th minute and the Artesians took a three goal lead into halftime.

But Kirkland would make things interesting midway through the second half with a pair of goals on defensive miscues. Colette Liston opened the scoring in the 60th minute and Jubilee Zevenbergen made it a one goal game, 3-2, in the 68th minute.

Oly Town responded quickly with Roberson feeding West Virginia University alum Kailey Utley for her first goal of the contest in the 73rd. Five minutes later, the pair put the pressure on again with Roberson driving forward and almost scoring before the ball was knocked away to Utley, who made a couple moves and slotted it past Goats keeper Kierstin Patefield to finish off the game and give the Oly Town women their first ever win, 5-2.

The Artesians will continue their first season with a trip to Puyallup next Saturday to face Washington Premier at the WA Premier Complex. First kick is set for 12:30 PM. OLYMPIA, Wash. – Jason Fairhurst scored an early first half goal and added another in the second half to lead the Oly Town Artesians to a 4-1 Washington State Super Cup win over the Harbor Force on Wednesday night.

The Artesians opened the game on the front foot, pushing the Harbor Force defense with Trevor Thompson making multiple runs up the left side and sending balls into the box to Oly Town forwards, just barely missing the target a couple of times early. Then, just seven minutes in, Jason Fairhurst broke through down the right side off a nice pass by Joe DiCarlo and fired a shot past the Harbor keeper for the first Artesians goal of the Cup.

Oly kept the pressure on after the goal and could have had a couple more if not for the brave play of Harbor goalkeeper Daniel Bustos. The Force started to ask some questions of the Artesians defense late in the first half but they held strong behind a pair of saves by keeper Carlos Rodriguez and the half came to end with Oly up 1-0.

The second half started just as the first half started with Oly pushing hard offensively. In the 51st minute, Fairhurst dribbled into the box but Bustos came to meet him in traffic and knocked the ball away, but Allen Escalante gathered on the 18 and fired the ball into the open net to put the Artesians up 2-0.

Just four minutes later, Thompson, a senior at River Ridge High School, streaked down the left side and sent a ball across the front of goal, past Bustos, and straight into the path of Fairhurst who touched it home for his second goal of the game.

Harbor’s lone goal came just moments later when Trevor Jensen popped a ball into the middle to Brandt Kelly, who took a couple of dribbles and shot from the top of the box into the top left corner past a diving Rodriguez to make it 3-1.

Oly finished the game off when Angel Trejo-Delgado was taken down by a sliding Bustos in the box on a breakaway and was rewarded with a penalty kick. He stepped up and fired it past a diving keeper to make it 4-1 and wrap up the Cup win for the Artesians.

The win advances Oly Town to Round 2 of the Super Cup. They will host the winner of the Cultures United/Seattle Lone Star game that will be played this weekend. The date and time of the Round 2 match will be announced next week. Next up for the Artesians is a women’s and men’s doubleheader at Black Hills on Saturday, June 5th.
