Stallworth Scores in Artesians Loss

TACOMA, Wash. – Brett Stallworth scored the lone goal for the Oly Town Artesians in a 12-1 loss to the Tacoma Stars Reserves at the Tacoma Soccer Center on Saturday night. JJ Schmeck scored a hat trick for Tacoma, who improved to 6-0-0 this season. The loss dropped the Artesians to 0-6-0.

The Stars Reserves in the first minute of three of four quarters, including a goal 52 seconds into the game by Mark Lee. They scored the first eight goals of the game, including one by Tacoma Stars MASL professional Joseph Cairel, before Stallworth finally got the Artesians on the board midway through the third quarter. Tacoma added four more goals, including two in the final minute of play, to pick up the win.

The Artesians will look for their first win on Saturday, January 12th when they travel to Snohomish to take on the Skyhawks. The two teams battled hard before Oly eventually lost 7-6 at The Pavilion in December. The Artesians return home on Saturday, December 26th when they face the Oly-Pen Force at 6:30 PM.
